Lilli's Light: A Leap of Faith in Washington, DC

It was on November 26th, 2025. We received a phone call that still feels surreal.
Lilli's Light had been invited to the White House.
One December 1st, 2025, we would stand in the Oval Office as the President of the United States of America signed the Support Act of 2025- and out of everyone in the country, only six people were invited to witness it. Somehow, our little light born from unimaginable loss was one of them.
We flew to Washington, D.C. on November 29th, 2025, hearts full and still trying to process what was happening. That first night, we took a bus tour through the city. We stood at the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, where history whispers through stone. We looked out over the World War II Memorial, walked near the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, saw the United States Capitol lit up against the night sky, and stood in awe beneath the Washington Monument.
Every Monument told a story of sacrifice, courage and change. And there we were- carrying our own story of loss, love and purpose.
That evening before, we shared dinner with other bereaved families at a rooftop restaurant overlooking the White House. Strangers just hours before, yet bound together by a pain few understand.
There were tears.
There was laughter.
There were moments of silence were words weren't necessary.
In that space, grief felt seen. And hope felt possible.
Then came the moment.
Walking into the White House, knowing why we were there, was overwhelming. Standing inside the Oval Office for the signing of the Support Act of 2025, was more than an honor- it was a validation. It was proof that the voices of families like ours matter. That our heartbreak has purpose. That Lilli's Light is not just a memory- but a movement.
This trip was not just about being invited. It was about being acknowledged. It was about taking unimaginable pain and turning it into advocacy, awareness, and action. It was about showing that even in the darkest seasons, light can break through.
Lilli's Light was created from loss- but it stands for love, prevention, education, and support. Being present for this historic moment reminded us that change happens when ordinary people refuse to stay silent.
We are deeply grateful- for the invitation, for the experience, for the families we met, and for every single person who has supported this mission. This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
But the work is lifelong.
Lilli's Light is more than a name. It is a promise- that we will continue to shine light into dark places, advocate for families, and fight for change so fewer families have to join this club.
If you believe in this cause, stand with us. Share this mission. Support the work. Have the hard conversations. Be part of the Light.
Because Together, we can turn pain into purpose- and Purpose into Change.
